Senter for sustainable development, Copenhagen

Main semester assignment
Based on 70°N and Dahl & Uhre's Excentral Park

The center is a cultural and academic meeting point for the development of ideas towards a sustainable urban life style. The building works on principles of high intensity programming and bicycle parking and Metro makes the house accessible with a variety of green transports options from Copenhagen centre. The building leaves much of the ground to the adjacent park. This space is set aside for recreational activities and conservation of flora and fauna in Nordhavnen. The structure and cladding are based on principles of thermic mass heat storage and air recycling as isolation in the double facade. The construction in steel and concrete is considered a permanent fixture in Nordhavnen due to the size and public character of the building.
